Amaç
Konferans ile uluslararası düzeyde akademisyenler, politika yapıcıları ve uygulayıcıların bir araya getirilmesi düşünülmektedir. Konferansın amacı, Bölgesel Kalkınma alanında çalışmalarda bulunan bilim adamlarını, uygulamacıları ve üniversiteler dışındaki araştırmacıları buluşturarak karşılıklı fikir alışverişinde bulunabilmelerine zemin hazırlamaktır. Konferansta sunumlar İngilizce ve Türkçe yapılacaktır. Konferans, ilgili herkese açıktır ve ücretsizdir.
Bu konferans ile uzun vadede;
Bölgesel Kalkınma konusunda uzman kişilerin katılımıyla gerçekleştirilecek tartışmalar ışığında Türkiye’de Bölgesel Kalkınma uygulamalarının geliştirilmesi yönünde görüş birliğine varılması ve bir yol haritası oluşturulmasına katkı sağlaması,
Düzenlenecek konferansa katılacak bilim adamları, sivil toplum örgütü temsilcileri ve bürokratlar aracılığıyla dünya genelinde Bölgesel Kalkınma konusunda yaşanan yenilikler konusunda bilgilenilmesi ve Türkiye’nin Bölgesel
Kalkınmasına katkı sağlayacak şekilde bu yeniliklere ne ölçüde uyum sağlayabildiği ve neler yapması gerektiği ortaya konulması,
Konferans, kapsamı ve katılımcıların nitelikleri itibariyle Türkiye için kısa ve uzun vadede önemli yararlar sağlayacak bir akademik platform oluşturulmasına katkı sağlaması,
Konferans sonunda yayınlanacak bildiriler kitabı ile; Bölgesel Kalkınma konusunda literatüre önemli bir katkı sağlanması ve karar alıcılara yol gösterici bir eser ortaya konulması,
Ayrıca konferansa davet edilecek yerel ve ulusal basın temsilcileri vasıtasıyla Türkiye’nin Bölgesel Kalkınma ve bilgi toplumu konusuna verdiği önem, ulusal ve uluslararası kamuoyuna duyurularak farkındalık yaratılması beklenmektedir.
The conference is planned to bring together scholars, policy-makers and practitioners in an international platform. The aim of the conference is to establish a ground for participants from within and outside of the universities for exchange of ideas and to discuss about regional development. The working languages of conference are English and Turkish. The conference is open to everyone involved and participation is free.
In the long term, the conference is expected to ;
Contribute building up a roadmap and designing a common vision for the improvement of regional development practices in Turkey through discussions between participating experts,
Give information about the recent developments in the subject area of Regional development worldwide through participating academics, representatives of civil society organizations and bureaucrats and to investigate in what extent Turkey has adapted to these developments and what it can do further in order to advance regional development in Turkey,
Contribute to the emergence of an academic platform that will bring about important benefits for Turkey in short- and long-term with its context and the qualification of the participants,
Contribute to the body of literature on regional development and provide a reference for decision-makers with the book of proceedings to-be-published at the end of the conference,
Create public awareness, both within Turkey and abroad, by displaying the importance attached by Turkey to issues of regional development and knowledge society via invited representatives of local and national press.
