The European Commission is pleased to announce the winners of ‘The European Story’ Photo Competition on Facebook!
First prize: Ramūnas Butė from Czech Republic, for the photo ‘Changes Happened’
Second prize: Marcin Pawlikowski from Poland, for the photo ‘Do not disconnect wagons’
Third prize (a tie between two entrants): Georgios Stavrinos from Cyprus for the photo ‘Mobility’ AND Daniel Alvito from Portugal for the photo ‘We are all one’

With over 670 photographs entered in two weeks, there was a high standard of competition from EU citizen fans of the European Commission Facebook page. Entries all showcased rich and diverse European stories, from Finland to Italy, and Slovakia to the UK.
From the Top 12 entries with the highest number of public votes, the official panel of judges, scored each of the 12 photographs from 1-5 across four different categories. The results were then tallied up to reveal the results.
Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to all entrants for participating in ‘The European Story’ Photo Competition as part of the European Year of Citizens 2013.
