Çevre College “6th National Dubbing Contest”
Çevre Secondary School proudly announces its sixth National Dubbing Contest for the sixth grade students. The contest will be held on 16th of January, 2016. The first ten schools to apply will be eligible for participating in the contest. First place award is 800 TL. Attached you will find the abstract and the application form. Çevre College 6th National Dubbing Contest
Çevre Secondary School is proud to be holding its sixth national dubbing contest. While putting a movie together lots of difficulties are faced. Writers create the script and the actor or actress is left to memorize pages and pages of scripts. All their hard work results in us, movie watchers, sitting in comfortable chairs and judging, while no one ever recognizes the agony the crew went through. Viewers are unable to appreciate the difficulty involved behind producing a movie. We are rarely aware of what is going on behind the scenes. However, a lot of things are involved when producing a movie. Today we will be able to see how words are given to actions.
As Çevre English teachers, we believe that this contest is going to greatly enable students to appreciate and respect the effort put into producing a movie. Their knowledge of English and creativity will be greatly challenged.
There are two rounds and in each the contestants are expected to dub two movies. The first movie will be a pre-prepared movie strip. It will be dubbed by the students with their own scripts live on stage. While the second one will be a movie strip chosen by the jury.
We would also like to mention that Çevre students will not be competing.

Who Can Apply?
1.Non-native sixth grade students are eligible for this contest.
2.Only one group from each school can join this contest.
3.Each group consists of maximum a 4 of students.
4.The first 10 schools to apply will be accepted for the competition. There will be no elimination round.
Rules of the Contest
1.In the first session of the contest they will dub a 2-minute strip of a film of their own choice on stage. The script will be written by the students. Original scripts of the movies won’t be accepted.
2.In the second part of the contest, the contestants will be presented with a new movie strip, which they had not seen before. The movie will be watched on mute and the contestants will be given some time to prepare their own script.
3.All applicants will present their dubbing as creatively as possible on stage.
4.In the final round three groups will be chosen as 1st , 2nd and 3rd place winners, according to the total result of two sessions.
Evaluation
The first session evaluation will be scored at 40 points out of 100 and the second session evaluation will be scored at 60 points out of 100 according to the groups’ content of the script, flow of the script, sound effects, accuracy and clarity of the language use.
