STEM; Science-Science, Technology-Technology, Engineering-Engineering and Mathematics-Mathematics consists of the initials of the fields and means that these fields are integrated. STEM stands for ROOT in English, so this method is also known as STEM Method in many places.

In This method, which started to be implemented in Europe and USA in 1985, is considered very important for the development of technology and innovation oriented people and participation in the production of the country. A project that aims to teach information technologies to students at an early age is called Stem Lab.

In the 21st century, it is seen that the logic of production has been emphasized by the interdisciplinary study of the learning methods that it participates in education in many European and Far Eastern countries.
