Our students within the “Girls’ Shine2: Rose and Candle” eTwinning project, founded by our school’s philosophy group teacher Dr. Asiye Akbulut, conducted inspiring interviews with school top-ranking students at the grade level on February 25, 2026. Hayriye, one of our 10th-grade students, met with the 12th-grade top students Berra and Aysima, while Defne, Hilal, Ceylin, and Zeynep met with the 9th-grade top student Aylin.
In these special interviews conducted with the 9th and 12th-grade top students, our students observed once again that the path to success is not just through working hard, but through the right strategy and high motivation.
Success Is Not Just About Working Hard
Our 9th-grade top student Aylin defines the key to success as working efficiently and sufficiently. Aylin’s prominent study principles are as follows:
Topic Completion Method: She completes topics thoroughly by using this special technique while studying.
Overcoming Difficulties: She states that she overcomes the difficulties in the subjects she struggles with most in a disciplined manner by doing daily repetitions and memorization.
Self-Control: Instead of banning social media and phone use, she maintains control by setting boundaries for herself.
Motivation: Her dream of having a profession where she can help people in the future is her greatest driving force.
Strategic Steps on the Path to University Exams
Two of our 12th-grade top students shared concrete suggestions especially for their friends in the process of preparing for university exams.
Coding and Notes: They use the coding method in verbal lessons and repeat every day by hanging the small notes they have prepared on their study desks.
Psychological Resilience: Our students, who emphasized the importance of not being stressed during the exam process, stated that when their motivation drops, they allow themselves a few days off, listen to morale-boosting songs, and spend quality time with their loved ones to gather energy and motivation.
Golden Advice from Our Successful Students
The message of our successful friends to all their fellow students is quite clear:
Do not get stuck on the points you cannot do, get to know yourselves, and definitely set aside time for yourselves in addition to your lessons.
Establish a balance between school, lessons, and social life; first complete your topic deficiencies and then set aside time for socializing.
We would like to express our gratitude to our students Aylin, Berra and Aysima for these valuable shares, and to our students Hayriye, Defne, Hilal, Ceylin, and Zeynep who successfully conducted the interviews.
