The 4th International Congress on Trends in Higher Education:
“Academic Entrepreneurship”
Fatih University Büyükçekmece Campus, İstanbul, Turkey, 6, 7 June 2014.
One of the most important trends in the universities today is to increase their abilities to initiate a sustainable culture of “academic entrepreneurship” among their researchers and to motivate them, together with their ecosystems including the university students, to start their own businesses. These academic entrepreneurs create and modernize institutional structures through, invention, innovation and transformation of the knowledge created by scientific research to produce new and innovative products and / or services for the benefit of their societies and for the whole world.
The main goal of the congress is to provide an international platform to exchange experiences and to establish long-term cooperation as well as strategic partnerships between different universities on Academic Entrepreneurship. This Congress is designed to achieve this goal through the dissemination of up-to-date information, panel discussions, workshops and tutorials.
We are holding this Congress in Istanbul, a city uniting Europe to Asia and being the host of different cultures and civilizations, from the ancient Greek, Roman, and Ottoman Empires to the modern Republic of Turkey. There will be some social activities and tours whereby the congress participants will have the chance to enjoy the history and the charm of Bosphorus.
I sincerely look forward to sharing some wonderful and fruitful congress days with you in Istanbul.
