We Received the Certificate of Excellence as Part of EU Code Week Activities at Our School
As İstanbulluoğlu Social Sciences High School, we organized coding activities during European Code Week (Code Week), aiming to provide our students with essential digital skills.

What is EU Code Week?
Supported by the European Commission, EU Code Week is a grassroots initiative that aims to make coding, digital literacy, and algorithmic thinking fun and engaging for everyone. Through these activities, our students:
Better understand the rapidly changing digital world.
Grasp the working principles of technology.
Find opportunities to bring new ideas to life using technological tools.
Code Week and Our eTwinning Projects
Code Week activities at our school were carried out under the guidance of our Philosophy Group Teacher, Dr. Asiye Akbulut. The activities were conducted within the scope of two eTwinning projects we founded:
Girls’ Shine 2: Rose and Candle
Let’s Write an Ekphrastic Poem 2: The Sculpted Form
In addition to the students involved in these projects, our 10th and 11th-grade students taking Philosophy Group classes also participated in these coding activities throughout October. Through these events, our students enhanced both their artistic and digital skills.
Highlighted Activities
Poster Design: Special posters were designed to raise awareness for “October 11, International Day of the Girl Child.”
Logo Design: Original digital logos were created to represent the “Let’s Write an Ekphrastic Poem 2: The Sculpted Form” project.
Republic Day Kahoot Quiz: Our 11-C grade students prepared and played a digital knowledge competition focused on the significance of Republic Day.
International Success: Certificate of Excellence and Super Organizer
Thanks to high-quality initiatives carried out in schools across our country, Turkey has achieved significant success in coding activities. In this context, our school and our teacher, Dr. Asiye Akbulut, have been honored with the “Certificate of Excellence” and the “Super Organizer” certificate by European Code Week.
We would like to thank our students, project partners, and teachers who contributed to our activities.
