The 2017 Conference on Communication and Environment in Leicester

Democracy, Borders and Public/Political Engagement:
Challenges for Environmental Communication
June 29 to July 2, 2017, University of Leicester

We are delighted to invite you to Leicester, UK, for the 2017 Conference on Communication and Environment. Leicester, with a proud history that goes back to Roman times and recently in the international spotlight for the discovery and re-interment of the remains of King Richard III, is the county town of Leicestershire and is geographically in the heart of England. It was designated Britain’s first Environment City in 2000 in recognition of its work to promote green spaces, sustainability and recycling.

The 14th biennial Conference on Communication and Environment (COCE 2017) is hosted by the Department of Media and Communication at the University of Leicester, which has a long-time and long-term commitment to environmental awareness, research and education. The University has recently updated its Environmental Sustainability Strategy (2015-2020), embedding it into the heart of what we teach and research.

We look forward to welcoming you to Leicester: come and participate in discussions about how we as environmental communication researchers and practitioners can help address the key challenges facing the environment and environmental communication.
