Specifications for the Painting Contest “Another World is Possible”

The painting contest “Another World is Possible” , organized by Beyaz Kule Schools aims to;
• improve primary school students’ habits to live with the children whose language, race and religion are different; reinforce their tolerance and contribute to the VVorld peace;

• contribute to the students’ personal development; develop their aesthetic sense and appreciation;

• establish a language of art betvveen the Turkish and VVorld children;

• create an environment whereby children can express their feelings and ideas through arts and share them with others;

• contribute to children’s habits to participate in arts activities and formation of aesthetic appreciation in them;

• contribute to tolerance, critical thinking, respect for others, transfer of knowledge to life, self- expression, and transfer of the products to the next generations.

JURY:
The jurors comprise two professors assigned by Mersin University Fine Arts Faculty, one arts teacher from Fine Arts High School, and one artist.

CONDITIONS OF ACCESSION:
• Contestants can apply with one entry. Participation is on voluntary basis.

• İn order for their entries to be accepted for evaluation, students from Mersin schools are required to attend the “live performance” with the theme, “Another VVorld is Possible” held at Beyaz Kule Schools, on 25th May 2019, Saturday. The entries outside the live performance will not be accepted for evaluation.

• For those students attending from outside Mersin; the entries must be submitted to Beyaz Kule Schools by 17:00, 24th May 2019, Friday, in order to be accepted for evaluation.

• There will be two different evaluations: One evaluation will be conducted during the live performance event on the contest day (25th May 2019, Saturday) and the entries sent from other cities will be subject to a second evaluation.

• The award-winning paintings will be pubiished betvveen 27th May 02th June on the school vvebsite.

• The award-winning candidates will get their avvards in the Spring Festival organized by our school.

• The paintings dimensions must be 35x50cm.

• The participants are free to use the techniques and materials suitable for their ways of expression.

• At the back of the painting, the name, surname, birth date, and the class of the partcipant as well as the school address, telephone and e-mail Information must be vvritten legibly. Anonymous entries will not be taken into consideration.

• There will be three İst places in the contest (for each category). Thus, 24 first place vvinners will be designated from among the entrants to “Another World is Possible” contest. The award- vvinners will be put up for sale online on our official vvebsite ). The profit will be granted to the predetermined body within the framework of social responsibility in presence of the notary.

The works must be original. Ali the legal liability of cheating and/or plagiarism belong to the participant.

• The participants may not participate in the contest with their entries which have already been awarded elsewhere. Upon documentation of this situation, the award will be claimed back.

• The competitors must fiil in the participation form completely and submit their entry along with the form either via mail to the address specified here or in person before the deadline.

• Our institution holds no liability for the likely damage to your entry in mail.

• Those entries containing signature, name or signs will be disqualified.

• The entries, in contrast with the National Education Law, serving political aims, containing harmful content, in violation of the general ethical rules, comprising insulting remarks, and using company titles regardless, will be disqualified.

• The contestant admits to have granted the Copyright of the prize-winning entry to Beyaz Kule Schools. İn accordance with this, they admit to have granted Beyaz Kule Schools the permission regarding ali the rights of duplication, processing, publishing, presentation, public distribution, and usage rights. The entry owner declares and undertakes that they will not withdraw the permission previously granted and ban the usage of the entry as described above and they will not demand any moral compensation or Copyright

• The entrants of this contest are considered to have admitted the contest regulations and rules. Beyaz Kule Schools hold the right of judgment of issues not stated above.

The contest is of international status and includes İst, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades ali över the VVorld.
