Prof. George Emilio Sanchez yazar, aktör ve yönetmen olarak faaldir. Kendisi halen CUNY-College of Staten Island’da profesör olarak çalışmaktadır. Sanat yoluyla ifadeyi kullanarak farklılıklara saygıkonularında çalıştaylar hazırlamış ve kar gütmeyen ve kurumsal kuruluşlarda aynı konularda kolaylaştırıcılık yapmıştır. Porto Riko, Peru ve Brezilya’da da çalışmaları olmuştur.
Prof. George Emilio Sanchez is a writer, performer and director. He is currently a professor at CUNY-College of Staten Island. He has created and facilitated diversity workshops utilizing the arts and has worked in the not-for-profit and corporate worlds with this training. He has also worked in Puerto Rico, Peru and Brazil.

The participants will be introduced to Boal’s Theater of the Oppressed games and exercises and how they impact on our individual imaginations and how we view the world around us. The participants will be involved in various forms of collaboration ranging from individual, dyads, and group activities. The games and exercises can be applied to making original performance/theater works to classroom/community interactions that address education and pedagogy. At the root, these approaches will engage critical thinking and allow the participants to examine the commonalities and distinctive manners we perceive the social/political matrix of our everyday lives. By working in an interactive and experiential environment numerous skills are addressed and honed. In the process of facilitating the workshop the participants come face-to-face with collective learning and cross-cultural understanding that nurtures non-violent avenues necessary for conflict resolution. The workshop will also integrate writing exercises to complement the work that is done with the Theater of the Oppressed exercises
