The 2nd National Symposium on Olive Oil and Table Olives is organized by the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Yasar University in Izmir, Turkey, in collaboration with International Olive Council, Madrid, Spain and National Olive and Olive Oil Council, Izmir, Turkey.
The Symposium will be held at Yasar University, Selcuk Yasar Campus, Bornova, Izmir, Turkey on 7-8 December 2011.
The increased global health and nutrition awareness give rise to concerns on adopting olive and olive oil to traditional dieting habits which leads to a continuous rise in olive and olive oil consumption in Turkey as well as around the world. The aim of this national symposium is to provide a venue that the industry representatives, producers, associations, governmental institutions and academicians will come together under the frame of a scientific event in order to discuss the problems and opportunities of promotional activities related to olive oil and table olive in Turkey.
Discussion topics of the Symposium are;
■nutritional and health-related properties of olive oil and table olives
■lipid technology and science
■marketing promotional strategies
■branding as motivating consumption
■measuring consumer tendencies of olive oil and table olive consumption
■product positioning and differentiation of products
Professionals from industry representatives, producers, associations, governmental institutions and academicians will give speeches at the Symposium.
Meanwhile, olive producers, olive oil processors, supermarkets are also invited to promote their products at the stands at Yasar University during the Symposium.
Keynote Speakers and invited Speakers both from and outside of Turkey will be making speeches and presentations.
