Faculty and Instructor Positions in Mathematics
The Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Özyeğin University invites applications for faculty and instructor positions in Mathematics. Özyeğin University is a private (foundation) university located in Istanbul, at the crossroads of Europe and Asia. The language of education is English. The Faculty of Arts and Sciences currently offers undergraduate level service courses to students from other three faculties. The faculty does not have a program in Mathematics currently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. A Ph.D. degree in Mathematics or another closely related discipline is required. Appointees may start work in the 2012 Fall semester or later. Review of applications will continue until the positions are filled. The compensation package will be commensurate to skills and rank, and will be highly competitive.
Faculty Positions: Candidates from any area in pure and applied mathematics are encouraged to apply. Special consideration will be given to canditates in applied and computational areas of Mathematics. Faculty members are expected to teach and conduct research. Applicants must have a strong commitment to teach undergraduate students in engineering and business, and are expected to have a track record of high quality research publications. An outstanding research potential is essential. Cross-discipline research activities in collaboration with other faculties are particularly encouraged. The positions are expected to be filled at the Assistant Professor level but exceptionally well-qualified canditates may be considered also in other levels.
