International Storytelling Conference 2012

Storytelling is, by its nature, personal, interpretive, and uniquely human. Educators have long known that the arts can contribute to student academic success and emotional well being. The ancient art of storytelling is especially well-suited for student exploration.

As a learning tool, storytelling can encourage students to explore their unique expressiveness and can heighten a student’s ability to communicate thoughts and feelings in an articulate, lucid manner.

The International Storytelling Conference is dedicated to advancing the art of storytelling as a performing art, a process of cultural transformation and an educational tool. The event aims to promote storytelling especially in classrooms and wherever else storytelling can make a contribution to quality of life.

ISC helps us build bridges over miles, across borders and connects us to the power of storytelling in our daily lives.

ISC is dedicated to promoting understanding of the world’s pre-literature and oral traditions and bringing together some of the finest storytellers and tradition bearers from around the globe. With a high quality programme, prestige location and international profile, ISC offers a tremendous experience for everyone. It creates a network of storytelling enthusiasts bonded together in spirit at the same place.

Innovative in its programming, accessible in presentation, culturally diverse in its scope, International Storytelling Conference is now regarded as the finest event of its kind in Europe.

Through our generosity, we are shining the light on storytelling for an ever increasing audience of listeners and tellers. This will be “A Conference to Remember” and we hope you’ll save the dates and watch for more news to come about this exciting storytelling gathering.
