    Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the effect of a training program based on the constructivists” model (5E) on supervisors’ preferences of instructional activities for teaching science. The study sample consisted of 60 male and female supervisors who were selected from various regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The results indicated that the preference towards inquiry instructional activities of male and female supervisors for science teachers in Saudi Arabia have been improved due to the training session on 5E learning cycle. However, the training session also improved their traditional instructional activities. The results of the “t” test for the means differences in supervisors’ preferences for science instructional activities have indicated also that there were no significant differences between male and female supervisors in terms of their preferences for the type of instructional activities, which should be practice by teachers in the classroom during the teaching science. The impact of the training session was equivalent on both genders. Thus, the study has recommended the need to adopt intensive training programs for supervisors of science teachers in Saudi Arabia, based on inquiry approach. Such programs should include methods and teaching methods derived from the constructivist models, in order to strengthen their desire to apply the inquiry activities in science teaching.
