The top three prizes will be awarded from the highest number of votes per category. All other prizes will be awarded by a select group of IEEE Day 2013 judges.

All prize amounts are in US dollars.
The IEEE Day event and how you relate your activity to the theme “Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow” should be the main focus of the photo.

Prizes will be awarded to the IEEE Organizational Unit (OU) (Student Branch, Chapter, Affinity Group, Section, … etc) the winner belongs to.

Only one award can be given to each OU.

Only one award can be given to OUs within each section.

All Awarded Photos will be announced on Wednesday, October 31, 2013.

Entry Criteria
All entries must be original photographs (no edits).

Submitters must have obtained necessary third-party releases.

Submitters are responsible for ensuring that their submissions are in compliance with all the legal and copyright requirements.

Every OU can submit up to 5 photos.

Each photo must have a maximum of 1800 pixels (width) x 1350 pixels (height).

Submitters must include their name, IEEE member number, OU and email address in the proper fields.

Regardless of who is in the photo, only the submitting OU will receive the prize.

The Photo Contest will open on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 and will close on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 23:59 UTC.

Voting will close on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 23:59 UTC.

Judging Criteria
When voting for your favourite photo, please consider the following criteria:

The Photo must be inspired by year’s IEEE Theme, which is “Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow”

Photos should show IEEE members in action (at work, at university, in a lab, in a classroom, … etc) or at an IEEE event.

Creativity and originality.

IEEE logo should be displayed in each photo.

Submissions that do not adhere to the guidelines will be disqualified without notice.


Who may enter

  • The contest is open to IEEE members of all grades.

  • IEEE Web Account login and password will be requested to access the Photo Gallery. If you do not remember your login or password, click here.

Who may vote

  • Everyone can vote for the top three prizes.

  • Facebook account is required to able to vote.

  • Voters are allowed to like more than one photo.

  • Each voter can vote for a photo only once.
