The 9th International Conference on Hands-on Science, (HSCI’2012) will be held in Antalya, Turkey from October 17 to 21, 2012. The main theme of the Conference is Science Education, Environment and Society; Reconnecting Society with Nature through Hands-on Science ”.

Following our previous successful conferences HSCI’2004 in Slovenia, HSCI’2005 in Greece, HSCI’ 2006 in Portugal, HSCI’ 2007 in Azores, HSCI’2008 in Brasil, HSCI’2009 in India, HSCI’2010 in Greece, and last year in Ljubljana, HSCI’ 2011, attended by hundreds of active and committees participants from over the world with a wide variety of valuable presentations and contributions, the HSCI’2012, will again provide an ideal opportunity for presentation and open friendly discussion of all kinds of ideas, experiences and works related to Science Education. It will provide a unique platform in which the educational scientists, administers, education experts, teachers, graduate students and civil society organizations and representatives will be brought together to present, exchange  and to discuss theoretical and practical knowledge in the scientific environment, brand new perspectives and innovative approaches in science teaching and learning including on stressing the significance of discovering nature through an enlarged use of indoor and outdoor hands-on science learning activities in formal and informal or non-formal contexts.

On the general theme of the conference “Science Education, Environment and Society; Reconnecting Society with Nature through Hands-on Science”, the 9th Hands-on Science Conference will be a privileged forum to present, openly and friendly share and discuss hands-on practices used in science and environmental education, bringing teachers educators and researchers and academicians together, to find ways to re-connect Society with the Nature..

Proposals are invited for oral or poster presentations, workshops and group discussions, hands-on experiments demonstration sessions and exhibitions. Papers and project applications in science and environmental education for all groups of people in the society could be proposed for presentation. Special sessions, dedicated to case-studies and presentations, as well as tutorials dedicated to technical/scientific topics are also envisaged. Accepted papers, presented at the conference, will be published in the Proceedings of HSCI’2012, Acceptance will be based on quality, relevance and originality. All accepted abstracts and full papers will be published in electronic format and in printed form.

Selected full papers will be considered for publication (after peer reviewing) at the following international journals;
