Under the scope of the eTwinning projects **”Let’s Write an Ekphrastic Poem 2 – The Sculpted Form”** and **”Girls’ Shine 2 – Rose and Candle”**, founded by **Dr. A. Akbulut**, the fourth of our traditional village school visits was carried out on January 13, 2026. Meeting with the students of Kabakdere Primary and Pre-school, our high school students signed off on a day filled with art and cooperation.

Preparation Process Passed with Excitement

Prior to the visit, our students prepared with great care. As part of the project dissemination activities, bookmarks were designed, and books and toys were collected from local volunteers. Special trinkets handmade from stone dust by one of our parents, thematic riddles supporting the project, and the planning of the “statue game” were the most exciting parts of the visit.

From Riddles to the Statue Game: Activities Full of Art

Following an informative speech by one of our project team students, the students bonded quickly through a riddle activity accompanied by hand puppets. During the rest of the activities:
Coloring Workshop: Images of roses, candles, Mevlana, and various sculptures suitable for the project themes were colored with crayons.
Cooperation and Sharing: Daisy-shaped trinkets gifted by our parent were painted together by high schoolers and 3-A grade students.
Music and Movement:As part of the “Sculpture” project, a “freeze dance” (statue) game was played during a music recital, which attracted great interest from the younger students.

Similar activities were successfully implemented in class 3-B during the visit. The moments when the younger students addressed our high schoolers as “teacher” or “big sister” led to emotional scenes. The program ended on a sweet note with the serving of traditional candies from Konya, which is one of the focal points of our project.
Kindergarten and a Visit of Loyalty

Sharing continued in the kindergarten class, where toys and daisy trinkets were presented as gifts. Our team also displayed a fine example of loyalty by visiting the physical education teacher who had previously worked at our school.

At the end of the visit, we would like to express our gratitude to Burçin Teacher of Kabakdere Primary School for her wonderful hospitality, the school administrations, and all the volunteers who supported us by providing trinkets, books, and toys.
