The European Commission’s Directorate General for Regional Policyhas launched the Europe in My Region Facebook Photo Competition.
The competition aims to highlight the work that projects across Europe are doing with the help of EU funding, and explore the meaning of these projects to local communities.
EU residents, from 18 years old, are invited to join the competition and upload up to three photos of a project receiving EU funding.
Photos must show the billboard or plaque with the EU flag somewhere in the picture showing that the project featured has received EU funding.
Four winners will be selected, one by popular vote and three by jury. The popular vote will take place from 26th August to 6th September 2013.
The 100 photos having received the most votes, excluding the winner of the popular vote, will be entered into the jury selection alongside an extra 50 photos from the competition chosen by the jury.
From this pool, the jury will select three winners. Each winner will receive cash prizes to spend on digital camera equipment and a two-night trip for two to Brussels between 7 and 10 October 2013.
The winners must be available to visit the ‘European Week of Regions and Cities’ event during these dates to pick up their prize.
Deadline to submit entries: 23 August 2013, 12:00 pm CET.
