Call for Applications : 2013 Asian Science Camp, August 25-30, Tsukuba, Japan
The idea of Asian Science Camp aims to enlighten the science-talented members of the next generation
in Asia through discussion and dialogue with top scholars in the world and to promote international
friendship and cooperation among them. The 2013 ASC is the seventh of the series, following successful
camps at Taipei (2007), Bali (2008) and Tsukuba, Japan (2009), Mumbai, India (2010) and Daejeon, Korea
(2011) and Jerusalem (2012).

5 students plus one accompanying teacher/supervisor is invited as Turkey’s delegates to the 2012 Asian
Science Camp. The students have to be outstanding in math or natural sciences (including physics,
chemistry, biology) from high school (last year or twelfth grade) and university (first or second year)
students. Participants should have strong proficiency in oral as well as written English and show a
genuine interest in science and research. The students should be able to fully attend the ASC2013
program. Finally, they need to obtain permission to attend this event from their schools/universities.
There will be no registration fee and the committee will provide the participants’ living and local
expenses associated with the Camp. Please be informed that the committee will not support the round
trip flight ticket for the participants. The organizers will not be responsible for medical expenses
incurred by the participants during the Camp. The organizers hence recommend each participant to
purchase suitable travel and medical insurance in his or her country before departure.

Applications must include the following:
• For students:
o transcript (academic record)
o A “letter of intent” that explains your interest in science and why you would like to
attend this school. The letter must be in English and not longer than 500 words. Please
indicate the level of fluency in English and provide copies of relevant documents if there
are any.
o Contact information of a science/math teacher who can give a recommendation.
• For teachers:
o Resume
