The Design Communication Association (USA) along with the Faculty of Architecture and Design at Ozyegin
University, Istanbul (Turkey), will host the 2016 European Design Communication Conference in Istanbul, May
11-14, 2016.
Papers and presentations that include but not limited to approaches and applications of current trends of
design and its nature of inclusiveness with allied disciplines (architecture, interior, landscape, media arts, etc.)
are invited to foster and contribute to the discussion of the conference theme. Specific topics may address
following subjects:
Design & allied disciplines, Design & cross disciplinary contexts, Sustainability & built environment, Communication & design
education, Investigation & representation, Education & practice, Analysis & interpretation, Heritage & architecture,
Interior & exterior, Analog & digital convergence, 3D & visualization, Parametric modeling & fabrication, Urban issues &
built environment, Building technology and environment, Moving images & time-based media, Interactive environments &
applications, Design & societal context, Changing dynamics & challenges, Design issues & developing nations
Important Dates
– Submission of Abstracts: Etended Deadline: Tuesday, June 09, 2015
– Notification of Acceptance/Rejection of Abstracts: Tuesday, August 18, 2015
– Full Paper Submission: Tuesday, November 24, 2015
– Submission of Final Paper in Conference Format: Tuesday, Jan 12, 2016
Submission Process
The process is a two stage submission, first summarized abstract, and then a full paper. The abstracts will be
blind reviewed by peer reviewers. Accepted abstracts then will be submitted in full papers. All accepted papers
and posters will be published in the conference proceedings (printed book) with ISBN number.
Submitting Abstracts:
200 to 500 word Microsoft Word (10 point Times Roman, single spaced, with name, affiliation, and email address)
abstract must be e-mailed to both conference chairs by Thursday, June 09, 2015, at:
